Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore, 6 April 2013 – Shahril Ishak scored a brace in front of 6,700 home fans to help the Singapore LionsXII beat Perak 2–1 to maintain their lead at the top of the Malaysian Super League table.

This was the sixth consecutive home win for the LionsXII.

In the dying minutes of the game, Perak earned a free kick and in the resulting skirmish scored a consolation goal.

Shahril scored early in the seventh minute after an incisive run into the heart of Perak’s defence by Hariss Harun.

In the 57th minute, Shahril scored his second goal from a Faris Ramli cross.

Perak FC coach Azraai Khor was disappointed with his team’s performance and said the LionsXII played better and his players had lost to a better team.

LionsXII head coach V. Sundramoorthy was disappointed that the LionsXII conceded so late in the game.

“The boys have done their best and it’s important to stay focused,” said Sundram, adding that Shahril is peaking at the right moment.

The LionsXII next play away against Negeri Sembilan at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman on Saturday, April 13.
