Petaling Jaya, Friday, December 30, 2011 — The Singapore LionsXII came from two goals down to draw 3-3 with ATM FA, the Malaysian Armed Forces team playing in the second tier Malaysian Premier League.

Shaiful Esah scored from a free kick to give the LionsXII a 1-0 lead to take into the half-time break but ATM came back with three goals in the second half.

ATM scored two quick goals through Venice Elphi Danny Kaya and Zaquan Adha soon after the start of the second half. Venice Elphi then struck again to shock the LionsXII and establish a 3-1 lead.

With time running out and a potential second pre-season loss staring the Lions in the face, Agu Casmir scored two late goals — the equaliser a diving header — in the 84th and 91st minute to force a draw.

The LionsXII lost their first pre-season game 2-3 to Johor FA at home, then followed it up with a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted side PKNS in Malaysia.

The LionsXII captain Shahril Ishak is on the record saying that his team is targeting seven points from a full nine for their first three games. Leaking seven goals in three pre-season matches so far will raise some eyebrows but the team travelling to Malaysia was not the full squad because key members were missing because of National Service commitments.

The Singapore squad will return home to take on Johor FC on Wednesday, January 4th, in another pre-season friendly. The match is free for Singapore fans but 400 seats have been set aside for Johor fans.
