Francis Fong, 16, starting off his 100m backstroke event. He finished first in the 15-17 years old age group with a timing of 56.91s. He had clocked 56.78s in the heats to rewrite his own meet record of 57.45 set last year. With his new personal best, Francis leap-frogged over Zach Ong to climb into third place in the all-time local 100m backstroke rankings. Rainer Ng, in second, is just 0.05 seconds ahead.
