Vietnam, Thursday, September 30, 2010 — Singapore continued their unbeaten spell in the Eximbank Cup after holding hosts Vietnam to a 0-0 draw in an evenly-contested affair at the Thong Nhat Stadium.

Singapore came agonisingly close to grabbing the three points after a goal bound header by Khalili D’Cruz was cleared off the goal line by the Vietnamese defence in the 70th minute.

“It was an excellent result for us. Vietnam is a strong team and they played a very hard game. Our boys did very well in stopping them from playing their game on home soil,” said coach Radojko Avramovic.

Overall, I’m very happy with the team’s performance in the two games played here,” added Avramovic.

Singapore are currently in third place ahead of Saturday’s opponents Malaysia who drew 1-1 against the Iranian Asian Games squad on Tuesday.
