Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, July 15, 2010 — Singapore thrashed Vietnam 89-33 to win their first game in the basketball competition of the 2nd ASEAN School Games.

Our boys had lost 64-92 to Malaysia yesterday.

Our Singapore girls went down 80-86 to the Philippines but pushed their opponents to overtime.

A last-gasp three point shot gave the Philippines the victory.

“It was a scary win, good thing Alyanna [Ong] made that trey,” said Filipino coach Patrick Aquino according to online media reports.

The boys’ team progress while the girls are out of the running for a semi-final spot.
