With two of their closest rivals suffering defeats this week, the Singapore Armed Forces FC maintained top spot of the S.League table with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Geylang United. The result left them top with 30 points while Gombak United are second with 27 points. Brunei DPMM two points further behind in third.

Geylang United had knocked SAFFC out of the Singapore Cup, but this time, the defending champions were not be denied. Mustaqim Manzur stabbed home the opener in the third minute for his second goal in as many games while Aleksandar Duric scored a brace to seal all three points for the defending champions.

Gombak United had contrasting fortunes as they fell to a 1-3 defeat to the Super Reds. The win was the Korean’s side third in as many games as they came back from a goal down to beat the Bulls. They are now in fifth with 18 points from 12 games.

Woodlands Wellington beat third place Brunei DPMM to inflict the foreign’s side second defeat of the season. Goals from Mojtaba Tehranizadeh and Jamil Ali was enough to seal the points for the Rams in a 2-1 victory.

Singapore striker Indra Sahdan Daud scored a late goal to send Sengkang Punggol out of the bottom three as his goal proved to be the only goal of the game against Albirex Niigata.

In other matches, Balestier Khalsa earned a 1-1 with Home United, while Tampines Rovers hammered Woodlands Wellington 4-1.
