The Lee Foundation recently made a S$500,000 donation to the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA).

The foundation is usually known for its charitable donations to education institutions and other philanthropic causes.

In 2004, the Lee Foundation donated an extraordinary S$50 million to the fledgling Singapore Management University while the National University of Singapore annual report for 2005 records a S$5.2 million gift from the Lee Foundation.

In 2004, the SingHealth group received a S$10 million donation from the Lee Foundation to support its nurse education programme.

The chairman of the Lee Foundation is Dr Lee Seng Gee, an ACS old boy. the foundation was set up in 1952 by Dr Lee’s father, Lee Kong Chian, who was popularly known as the ‘Rubber King’.
