Singapore Indoor Stadium, Monday, June 1, 2015 — Singapore’s paddlers have won all their doubles match ups to qualify for the semi-finals on the opening day of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games table tennis competition.

In the men’s doubles, the pairing of Clarence Chew and Chen Feng beat Ficky Santoso and Gilang Ramadhan of Indonesia 3–1 (11–2, 12–14, 11–4, 11–7) to win their Round of 16 match.

The win qualified them for a quarter-final place against Richard Gonzales and Rodel Valle of Philippines. The Singapore pair dropped the opening game but came back to win the next three for a 3–1 (11–13, 11–6, 11–6, 11–4) win to secure a semi-final place.

Chen and Chew will play the Thai pair of Tanviriyavechakul and Udomslip in the semi-finals on Tuesday, June 2.
