Hi athletes and sports fans,
I’m sure you know that Singapore is bidding to be the host city for the first-ever Youth Olympic Games. If it does come to Singapore, can you imagine being a photojournalist and being court side at the Games? I know I’m looking forward to it myself.

One of my aims going forward for Red Sports is to help train and eventually hire some young photographers, journalists and photojournalists who can cover the Games live. The Youth Olympic Games, if it does come here, will be held in 2010 and so the training starts now.
Red Sports has put together a team of trainers who can conduct workshops if you are interested. You can go to the RedSports Media Academy page for more details on workshop dates.

Once the Olympics are confirmed heading our way, there will definitely be a series of shootouts planned.
However, it is not a one off shootout. I will pick a shooter or shooters who can show a consistent level of performance over a period of time. A single shootout does not provide a good and reasonable assessment of a photographer in a pressure cooker sports shoot.
so when is the shootout/audition?! haha.

There will be a shootout to hire the best for the youth olympics. Can’t just let anyone in as an official photographer.
i dun mind shooting. if i am assigned or paid for it. you need an entry pass to be able to enter the grounds to be known as an official photographer to be able to hold 1 series bodies and a couple of L teleprimes and triggering remote cameras.
to les. hope to be able to work with you should the bid be successful.
