Hey school athletes,

Red Sports is 60 days old today.

I started this website because I thought our school sports scene needed more publicity than it was getting. A lot of attention is paid to international sports but I realised when I worked at Nike Singapore and met people like Ruud van Nistelrooy, Rio Ferdinand and Alex Ferguson that what we say about the foreign sports stars doesn’t really matter to them. In fact, they are very happy to entertain us from Asia because they know we spend a lot of money on them.

So a year and a half ago, I cancelled my cable subscription and decided not to waste any more time and money on foreign sports. I figured it was more meaningful to spend time on local sports because school sports is passionate, exciting and entertaining.

And how true that is because the numbers are quite staggering to me. In 60 days, this website has received 93,500 hits from 18,500 visitors. I’m grateful for your company.

In the last 60 days, I’ve seen you guys and gals sweat, stretch, cry and bleed for your team mates. Your supporters cheer, shout and scream (I have since learnt to stand further away from high-pitched screaming ones. Haha.).

Playing on a school team is special. Only a few of you get to wear the school jersey. When you walk onto the field of play, the hopes of the school rest on your shoulders.

This is your time, your team, your dreams, your hopes.

Remember this time. You come this way but once.

Red Sports. Always Game.
