Hi Priscilla. I got your email and replied. What happens is that ISPs like StarHub and SingTel use rotating IP addresses. The system we use does not allow voting more than once from the same IP address. So that’s why. It is frustrating for those who haven’t voted but it is the best system we can find out there currently that prevents one person from voting for themselves over and over again. Hope this explains.

Saw that sheen yeah vote was 35 and 37 just now. U mean u check one by one and all 35 was repeated?
In cases where two nominations turn out to be the same person, we always keep the higher number of votes. This is because we allow readers to select more than one player at a time. In this case, 15.
Sometimes, we can’t tell for sure whether it’s the same person or not because readers nominate and do it without putting in surnames. We end up putting them all in to err on the side of caution because we don’t want to accidentally leave anyone out.

I wouldn’t say that. We run these polls to recognize school-athletes and encourage them. It’s not about winning the poll. That is why we don’t give any prizes. It’s about the honour of getting nominated by your schoolmates and teammates and have them vote for you. That is our focus.
I agree but I just feel that you guys should do this up properly, finding out everyone’s full name, position and cap number. That is, if you guys have time 🙂
We do it as best we can, given that Red Sports is run by volunteer crew and we rather focus on covering games rather than spend time asking each and every player individually for their full name, position, school, before we start the poll. That is why we ask readers to nominate them as they are best placed to know the names of their teammates and school mates. And readers have, as you can see. But not every reader will know every player’s full name. In fact, some players don’t even know their teammates full name.
