Vietnam, Saturday, October 2, 2010 — Singapore put in another gutsy display to draw with Malaysia 0-0 to stay undefeated in the Eximbank Cup.

Draws with Iran and hosts Vietnam earlier in the week saw them end with a commendable three points and come in third in the quadrangular tournament in Ho Chin Min City.

Singapore dominated most of the possession in the first half, creating numerous chances, with the best opportunity falling to striker Fadhil Noh but he wasn’t able to finish off his one on one chance against the Malaysian goal keeper.

The draw with Singapore sees Malaysia gain only one point from the tournament, while Iran and Vietnam, who have yet to play each other, are on 4 points each.

“It was a really hard game against the Malaysians but we played very well, especially in the first half. We dominated in the first half and created a couple of chances.

“I am really happy with the team. From the first game till the last, they have given 100% on and off the pitch. Despite the lack of preparation, the team was excellent and have tried very hard in all the matches,” added coach Radojko Avramovic.
