Teck Ghee Community Club, 27 July 2008 – After seven rounds of the 4th World Schools Chess Championships, a clearer picture of the final outcome is emerging. At the end of play on Sunday, 27 July, the Raffles Institution duo of Jonathan Koh on 5.5/7 and Timothy Chan on 5.5/7 look good for gold in the U-17 Open and the U-15 Open respectively. Raffles Institution's Shen Chuan-Qi on 5/7 and Daniel Chan on 4.5/7 look like they may give Singapore a clean sweep of medals in the U-15 Open.

Play resumes on Tuesday, 29 July, at 3pm for the second-last round, and ends on 30 July. The tournament features over 250 players from 23 countries. More details on these championships are available at www.worldschools2008.blogspot.com.
