Raffles Country Club, Singapore, January 9, 2008 - Lam Chih Bing held on after a final round of 70 to lift the OAAG-SPGA Championship trophy at Raffles Country Club after finishing four shots clear of second place Shaaban Hussein who shot 69 for the day.
After his victory he said, "I had a few scares out there today and got a little nervous towards the end with Unho Park and Shaaban playing well but I am delighted I kept my nerve and came through to win. It has been a great tournament and I am very excited about what this OAAG Golf Tour can do for the golfing professionals in Singapore."
Coming in one shot behind Shaaban and joining him with a final round of 69 was Unho Park. The lowest scoring amateur for the event was 18 year old Lam Zhiqun.
The final round of 40 players will compete once more in the Pro-Am tomorrow and the response for this event bodes extremely well for a competitive and eagerly anticipated Tour this year and beyond.
The OAAG Golf Tour 2008 comprises of a series of four tournaments and a final Order of Merit competition in 2008.
