Day two of the 5 Nations Netball Cup at Toa Payoh Sports hall was yet again filled with excitement and world-class action on court. Singapore claimed another victory while Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) also recorded their second win to join them at the top of the table.

An ever-improving Canadian side battle until the final whistle against T&T but went down 49 points to 41. With the teams evenly matched in physical stature, it was only the pace and power of the ‘calypso girls' in the opening half that gave them the crucial edge and maintained their unbeaten record. Vice-captain Simone Bowen-Sandy worked tirelessly in WD and will be one for Singapore to keep an eye on when they meet on Thursday. The Canadian defence also worked extremely hard, especially Shawnette Cockburn who made some crucial interceptions to keep them in contention. The underdogs won the second half 24-16 but T&T's half time lead of 17 points was just too much to claw back.

Canadian coach, Rosemary Ann Willcocks was delighted by her team's spirited performance: "The girls were very nervous in our opener against Singapore but were much more relaxed tonight so they enjoyed it and had fun. We have played against Trinidad & Tobago before so we knew what to expect: they are a very talented side with great skills. We put in an excellent performance and are definitely aiming for third spot in this tournament now."
