St. Patrick's School's Viresh Kumar clinched the B Div boys' high jump gold with a personal best clearance of 1.90m, getting the better of RI's national u15 record holder Rei Tan who settled for silver with 1.88m.
When Singapore Sports School (SSP)’s Huang Weijun received the baton on the anchor in the B Division boys’ 4 by 400 metres relay final, he knew a massive winning streak was on the line for his school in the event. The B boys’ 100m-200m sprint king was up against Victoria School (VS)’s 800m champion and 400m silver medalist Subaraghav Hari who got the baton slightly earlier, and he understood the assignment. Weijun took advantage of his speed to overtake the latter within the first bend, and never relented as he brought the gold home for SSP in 3 minutes 31.47 seconds, a marginal 0.18s ahead of VS (3:31.65). Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) took the bronze in 3:35.44.
RI's Anson Loh (#322), who set a new national U15 and championship record in the C Division boys' discus (1kg) with a throw of 58.88 metres, sealed his second gold of the meet with a personal best 15.51m in the shot put (4kg) event.
ACS(I)'s Mark Lee (#53) blazed through the A Div boys’ 200m final in a 21.62s (-0.3m/s) record run, shattering the 10-year-old electronically-timed championship and schools national record of 21.75s set by Hwa Chong alumnus Donovan Chan. The 18-year-old athlete also went under Sandy Hong’s hand-timed record of 21.7s set in 1984.
Having dropped out mid-race after a fall in last month's National Schools Track and Field 3000-metre final, Ferrell Lee of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) was looking for redemption at the National Schools Cross Country Championships. Clocking a timing of 13 minutes 36.8 seconds over the 3.8-kilometre race route, Ferrell succeeded in sealing his comeback by winning the C Division boys' individual gold.

In his first year competing in the century sprint, Zeen Chia of Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) came out tops in the B Division boys' 100 metres final to emerge the surprise victor. The Secondary 4 student -- whose pet event is the long jump -- was previously also a racewalker during his time in the C Division, and only started doing specific sprints training five months ago.
Victoria School (VS) made it two in two at the 60th National Schools Track and Field Championships, clinching the gold medal in both the C Division Boys' 100-metre Hurdles and B Division Boys' 110m Hurdles finals through Simon Azulay and Gabriel Lee respectively.
