Mr Teo joined MCYS as Parliamentary Secretary in May 2006 and has focused primarily on the sports portfolio. He chaired the Sporting Culture Committee, which reviewed and put forward recommendations to strengthen and transform Singapore’s sporting culture. He was also an Advisor to Singapore’s Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Bid Committee, which steered Singapore to a successful and historic win to host the inaugural YOG in 2010. At the YOG countdown party at the Padang, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong paid tribute to Teo Ser Luck’s role in securing the win, describing him as having been “living, sleeping, dreaming 5 circles," a reference to the Olympic logo.
