B Div Long Jump: RI’s Yusuf Arsyad retains title, but falls short in record bid

Yusof jumped 6.75 metres -- short of the 6.79 metres B boys championship record set by Tan Lin Keat in 1995, who was competing for Chinese High School. Hwa Chong Institution's Tedd Toh placed second after he jumped 6.53 metres, ahead of Singapore Sports School's Raeshon Loo who recorded 6.50 metres.

C Div 800m: Nanyang Girls’ Shu Han defends title; Sports School’s Harieharan holds off Arian’s challenge

Shu Han's 2 minutes 29.33 seconds was a cool five seconds faster than second-placed Kylie Tan, the 3000 metres and cross country champion from Cedar Girls' Secondary School. Harieharan came in a time of 2:09.74, emerging victorious after a titanic battle with Arian after both of them had pulled away from the leading pack.

C Div 100m Hurdles: Sports School’s Jeft Tay fends off encroaching rivals

Jeft clocked 14.73 seconds with a tail wind of 0.1 metre/second in the final, ahead of National Junior College's Ken Hayashi and Victoria School's Gabriel Lee, who both posted 14.98 seconds in a photo finish.

C Div 80m Hurdles: Nanyang Girls’ Elizabeth Tan blitzes field to defend title, but fails in record bid

Elizabeth clocked 12.52s in the final against a headwind of 0.7 metre/second, shy of her championship record 12.07s. Ho Zhi Xuan from CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School claimed the silver with 13.29s, while Singapore Sports School's Rachel Tan finished third with 13.89s.

A Div Javelin: Hwa Chong’s Justyn Phoa cracks 47-year national schools record

When Hwa Chong Institution's Justyn Phua lined up to take his fourth throw in the A boys' javelin competition, he was trailing junior teammate Wang Tingjia in second. A few minutes later, he not only bettered Tingjia's best throw, but also a national schools and championship record that has stood since 1970.

C Div 3000m: RI’s Sean Tay narrowly outwits Nan Hua foe; Cedar’s Kylie Tan adds to cross-country crown

Three seconds were all that separated Raffles Institution's Sean Tay and Nan Hua High School's Lim Yu Zhe at the cross country nationals a month ago. The gap came down to 0.06 second between the two boys in the C division 3000m race at the 58th National Schools Track and Field Championships.

Raffles Institution's Ho Zhe Xi quite literally gave it all he had, throwing himself forward at the finish line when he wasn't sure he was going to catch Hwa Chong Institution's Or Yong Hur in the 400m race at the 58th National Schools Track and Field Championships. As it turned out, he's done just enough.

B Div 3000m: RI’s Armand posts personal best to fend off familiar rivals

In a repeat of last month's cross country nationals, Armand Dhilawala Mohan outran Hwa Chong Institution's Joshua Rajendran and St Andrew's Secondary's Jarrell Lim into second and third, respectively.
