Carren’s personal best is 1.48m which was achieved during selection trials for WALA. This is her third year in the sport. When I asked her why she choose the High Jump, she said candidly, "I cannot run!" Carren trains three times a week and has also achieved 4.02m in the long jump. With her proud mother standing in the background, Carren told me that she also tried out for Singapore Sports School earlier in the year and doesn’t yet know whether she’s been accepted.

i stand corrected.. i never knew primary schools had such confusing categories. haha. back in those days it was just junior boys and senior boys. haha.. getting old already…
In Primary school sports, there are A, B, C and D groups. They call it A-Boys, B-Boys, and so on.
A is 13 and under.
B is 12 and under.
C is 11 and under.
D is 10 and under.
At least that’s how I understand it. I know it’s very confusing. I want to faint, trying to keep track of the groups. And each group has it’s own final. So there are 4 high jump finals, 4 long jump finals for each gender, each age group.
I cannot cover everything even if I am there. Everything happens all at once and you can shoot until you blur. haha.
uncle les, isn’t B-girls for the upper sec category? she’s from anderson primary.. haha (:
