Carren Teo of Anderson Primary cleared 1.44m to win the gold in the B-Girls High Jump event last Friday at Bishan Stadium.

Carren’s personal best is 1.48m which was achieved during selection trials for WALA.  This is her third year in the sport. When I asked her why she choose the High Jump, she said candidly, "I cannot run!" Carren trains three times a week and has also achieved 4.02m in the long jump. With her proud mother standing in the background, Carren told me that she also tried out for Singapore Sports School earlier in the year and doesn’t yet know whether she’s been accepted.
