Dunman High confirmed their position as Group A winners with a 68-62 victory over Changkat Changi and qualified for the quarterfinals of the adidas It Takes 5ive Tournament. Ngee Ann booked their quarterfinal slot as well as Group A runners-up with a 56-49 win over Chung Cheng High (Yishun).
In Group B action, Anglo-Chinese School (International) beat Bishan Park 44-25 to confirm their status as Group B winners. Having beaten all their group opponents by an average of 19 points, ACS(Int’l) are firm favourites for the Tournament. Outram, having beaten Bishan Park 28-23 in a crucial game, qualify for the quarterfinals also as Group B runners-up.
In Group C, Commonwealth secured top spot with three consecutive wins, outscoring all their opponents by a whopping average of 30 points. They too look good going into the quarterfinals and will be joined by runners-up Balestier Hill.
The boys of Jurong West, Yishun, Yuying, Hwa Chong and Huayi all have similar 2-0 records and should qualify for the quarterfinals from their respective groups. Who joins them as group runners-up will soon be known.
In the Girls groups, Huayi is the only unbeaten team and they lead Group B. Naval Base look the most promising team to qualify for the semifinals as the group runners-up. In Group A, Yuying, Woodgrove and Bedok Green all have similar 2-1 records but Bedok Green look the strongest of the three. Yuying and Woodgrove are to play in a crucial match next Tuesday, 14 August at CCAB to determine who will qualify for the semifinals.
