There were a total of 12 under-18 boys teams and eight u-14 boys teams vying for top honours in the SYOF volleyball competition this year.
Siglap, comprising Jayne Chan, Clarice Tan, Carissa Chan, Choo Jie Ying, and Joanne Lim, also met CCHMS in Round 1 and won 13-9 then. They finished the tournament unbeaten in six games.
71 boys' teams took part in all took part in the under-17 and u-15 categories.
This year's SYOF will comprise a total of 11 sports, with athletics and fencing added to the roster.
Students from different schools train and compete together with a club, even in the national competition.
St. Andrew's Secondary sent two teams to the Singapore Youth Olympic Festival U17 Rugby 7s competition, and both teams helped earn the school first and third-placed finishes in the category.
Combining speed, strength and finesse, the ACS(I) boys rumbled their way to 31–0, 41–0 and 36–7 victories over SAJC, RI and ACJC respectively.
