Yio Chu Kang Sports Centre, Saturday, August 1, 2015 — National A Division Rugby champions Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) once again showed their authority in the Under-18 rugby fraternity, dominating their opponents at the Singapore Youth Olympic Festival Under-18 Rugby 7s competition to finish in first place among four teams.

Combining speed, strength and finesse, the ACS(I) boys rumbled their way to 31–0, 41–0 and 36–7 victories over St. Andrew’s Junior College (SAJC), Raffles Institution (RI) and Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) respectively.

However, for fellow National A Division Rugby Championship finalists SAJC, lady luck was certainly not on their side. Despite beating ACJC 19–17, the Saints conceded their final game to RI, going down 15–17, resulting in a three-way tie. As ACJC beat RI 12–7, the superior point differential gave ACJC a second-placed finish, forcing SAJC to settle for third place.

The Singapore Youth Olympic Festival was first organised in 2011 for youth athletes aged 18 and below, and serves as a legacy of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games which was held in Singapore in 2010. In its fourth edition, the festival comprises nine sports held over two weekends from July 25 through August 2.
