CHIJ Katong Convent's Apeland Keira Mingan crossed the finish line in 5:25.20 to take silver while Caylee Chua of Crescent Girls' School settled for bronze in 5:28.25.
Joyceleen Yap of Cedar Girls' Secondary crossed the finish line in 5:17.81 to take silver while NYGH's Noelle Chung was third with 5:20.59.
Tay, who is debuting in her first National Inter-School Championships, covered the 3000m race in 11 minutes and 58.99 seconds, making her the only athlete in the field to finish with a sub 12 minute run.
Dave Tung of SJI led the boys' C Division field with a timing of 12:20.2, while Caylee Chua of Crescent Girls' led the girls' field with a timing of 14:06.7.
Elaine Quah wins her second individual gold in cross country, including the C Division title last year. Her school, Raffles Girls' School, also emerged champions in the team category.
Despite winning the third quarter, Crescent Girls' School could not stop St Margaret's Secondary from finishing third in the South Zone C Division Netball Championship.
St. Margaret's put up a spectacular performance both defensively and offensively to beat Crescent Girls' 23–19.
Crescent Girls' managed three quick goals in the second half to seal victory.
