Finishing in second place was Pebbles Lee of CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh), who crossed the finish line in 1:11.83. Nanyang Girls' High's Tan Rou Ann took bronze in 1:11.99.
Cham Jay Yin (#28) of CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' and Yin Yichen (#253) of Cedar Girls' Secondary clinched the silver and bronze medals with distances of 9.90m and 9.74m respectively.
The Secondary 4 student's result is an improvement on her second-placed finish in last year's edition, where she clocked a timing of 1:01.26.
Tay, who is debuting in her first National Inter-School Championships, covered the 3000m race in 11 minutes and 58.99 seconds, making her the only athlete in the field to finish with a sub 12 minute run.
Joining her on the podium are Tan Jing Wei (#265) of Cedar Girls' Secondary, and Tan Rou Ann (#410) of Nanyang Girls' High, who finished second and third in 15.99 and 16.78 seconds respectively.
Jamie Koo of Raffles Girls' came in second in a time of 1 minute 09.66 seconds, while Carolyn Koh of Nanyang Girls' High School rounded up the podium with a time of 1 minute 13.81 seconds.
Nanyang Girls’ High trailed in second with a 51.73-second effort, while CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ were third in 51.90s.
Jezebel Koh of Singapore Sports School finished second with a jump of 1.50m, while Choun Ray Yi of Nanyang Girls' High School was third with 1.43m.
