Clementi Sports Hall, Friday, July 1, 2016 — Hwa Chong Institution secured a comfortable 82-8 win over Zhenghua Secondary in the West Zone C Division Basketball Championship.
It was their first win of the season after they lost 21-44 to Swiss Cottage Secondary in their opening game, and their win-loss record now stands at 1-1.
For Zhenghua, this was their second loss in a row after a 24-63 loss to Jurong Secondary in their opening game, and they are winless with a 0-2 record.
Jurong have a perfect 2-0 record in Group C after they also won their opening game 45-25 over New Town Secondary.
Swiss Cottage also have a perfect 2-0 record in the group. After their opening win over HCI, Swiss Cottage went on to beat Jurongville Secondary 51-16 in their second game.
The two unbeaten teams take on each other in a top-of-the-table clash on Thursday, July 7.
For HCI, their next game is against Jurongville who narrowly beat Hua Yi Secondary 42-41 in their opening game.
Hua Yi, who also went down 36-62 to Jurong and have a 0-2 record, take on Zhenghua in the other upcoming Group C clash.
