Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 — Michelle Yogeswari of Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) Delta Senior School clinched the girls’ Special Olympics 100m gold medal with a timing of 15.59 seconds at the 55th National Inter-School Track & Field Championships.

APSN runners swept the podium. Shamira of Delta Senior School bagged the silver medal with a timing of 16.71s, while Seri Wahyuni of Tanglin School finished third in 18.05s.

This is Michelle’s first time taking part in a mainstream event. After the race, she said, “I feel good. I want to thank my coach and my teachers.”

This is not her personal best timing, but she feels that it is a good start in her running journey.
