Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Monday, April 14, 2014 — Ismi Zakiah of Singapore Sports School clinched her second consecutive girls’ C Division 200m gold medal with a timing of 26.26 seconds at the 55th National Inter-School Track & Field Championships.

Ismi sped to a championship record of 26.00s last year, but fell just short of the mark this time. “It feels great, although it is quite tiring. After two races (heats and semi-final), I feel like I have gotten used to it. I want to thank my coach, my parents, and all my friends who support me,” commented the Sports School student.

Ismi’s teammate, Portia Tan, bagged the silver medal with a timing of 27.37s, while Jayde Ashlea Yeung of CHIJ (Toa Payoh) finished third in 27.60s.
