55th National Inter-School Track & Field Championships C Division 200m Boys

Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Monday, April 14, 2014 — Joshua Lim of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) overtook teammate David Tameeris in the final 10 metres to clinch the boys’ C Division 200m gold medal with a timing of 23.41 seconds at the 55th National Inter-School Track & Field Championships.

David bagged the silver medal with a timing of 23.53 seconds, while Hong Wen-Kai of Hwa Chong Institution finished third in 24.27 seconds.

Joshua’s time is the fifth fastest ever in this event and division, while David’s run is the fastest second-placed time ever run.

With the victory, Joshua now owns the 200m and 400m titles at this year’s National Championships. The 14-year-old commented, “It feels great. I want to thank my family, my friends and my coach for their support, and definitely, all glory and honour to God.”

The C Division 200m record is 22.99s and was set by Yusof bin Azhari, then of St. Joseph’s Institution, in 2003.
