Choa Chu Kang Sports Complex, Monday, April 15, 2013 — Nanyang Girls’ High School’s Sharlene Teo Yu Teng (#384) clinched the gold medal in the B Division Girls’ 400 metres Hurdles final in a time of 1 minute 8.56 seconds at the 54th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

Lim Si Yi of Cedar Girls’ Secondary was second, clocking 1:10.85. Natalie Yu , also of Nanyang Girls’ High, finished third in 01:11.22.

The B Division 400m hurdles record is 1:03.86 and was set in 2008 T. Piriyah, then of Singapore Sports School.

After the final bend of the track, Gwyneth Ang of CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ was not too far behind second place Si Yi. However, she tripped over the second last barrier and fell, allowing her opponents to overtake her.

Nonetheless, she still picked herself up and managed to complete the race.
