Bishan Stadium, Thursday, April 18, 2013 — Nanyang Primary posted a stellar performance on the first day of competition with its athletes winning two medals and breaking the first record of the meet at the 54th National Inter-Primary School Track & Field Championships.

Mindy Foo Ziyi won first place in the D Girls’ High Jump after clearing a height of 1.17m, while teammate Rae Tng Ying Xin came in fourth with an attempt of 1.12m.

Nanyang’s athletes managed to qualify for the next round in all 17 events they entered, with both their participants qualifying in 12 events. Nanyang’s stellar performance was best displayed in the D girls’ 600m, with both their representatives Celeste Li and and Ann Lee blitzing their respective heats to finish way ahead of the pack.
