National B Div Bball (Girls): Christ Church ease to 60-28 win over Manjusri

Clementi Sports Hall, Monday, March 26, 2012 — It was a stroll in the park for North Zone champions Christ Church Secondary as they beat Manjusri Secondary 60-28 in the National B Division Girls’ Basketball Championship.

With the win, Christ Church have a 2-0 win-loss record while Manjusri fall to 0-2.

Manjusri were down by seven points in the first quarter but were not daunted and came back out during the second quarter to give Christ Church a tough fight.

Manjusri managed to outscore Christ Church 6-4 in the second quarter to trail by five points at 12-17 at the end of the first half.

However, Manjusri’s defence crumbled in the second half as Christ Church took over the game, going on a shooting spree. Christ Church pulled further and further ahead till it was impossible to come back in the final quarter.

The final quarter was a display of shooting by Christ Church as they dominated both in and out of the paint, as they outscored Manjusri 24-3 in the final quarter to put the game out of reach.
