St Andrew’s Village, Tuesday, April 28, 2009 – St Andrew’s Junior College beat Anglo-Chinese Junior College 27-13 to wrap up first place in their group and set themselves up for a semi-final showdown with Raffles Institution.
RI fell 3-12 to Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in another game played last Friday, April 24th. ACJC will now meet ACS(I) in the other semi-final.
ACJC went ahead 6-0 through two penalties but a yellow card for Szu Ker of ACJC gave SAJC the chance to comeback and they soon led 10-6 through a penalty and a converted try by Sirhan.
Another successful SAJC penalty gave the Saints a 13-6 half-time lead.
A try early in the second half by Shaun gave SAJC a commanding 20-6 lead. Although ACJC came back with a try by Daniel Looi to reduce the deficit to seven points, SAJC managed to score another try through Edwin to kill off the ACJC comeback and walk off 27-13 victors.

the rain in the early afternoon caused the conditions of the SAJC rugby field to be ‘unplayable’, and so it was switched to the artificial turf.

Does anyone know the reason for the last minute change in venue from SAJC to SASS?
That’s how the game should get going! Up & On Saints!
On behalf of the entire ACS rugby fraternity, we extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of the late Mr Tan Teck Meng and also the entire SA rugby fraternity.

Its my pen-name for this site.
It will make sense to you if you would go to “Saints break ACS(I) ….. ” posting and you will definitely agree with my pen-name. Thot I maintained it for continuity sake.
Fyg, at first i thot of just browsing the comments posted until I saw one posting which was in my opinion totally disgusting and uncalled for.
Sorry. This might seem a little off topic, but what are you so “totally disgusted” about in your comment? You seem to be making a respectful point, and you don’t seem to be talking about anything you’re unhappy with. Pardon me, I’m just curious….
Before the start of the game, a minute silence was observed for the demise of a very dear old boy of SA Mr. Tan Teck Meng. Most of you may have seen him (with his camera on a mono-pod)at most of SA games. We will miss him dearly.
Yesterday was a great game as usual. Both team played well and was indeed a very entertaining game. Good sportmanship. Keep it up boys.
