Singapore Sports School, Tuesday, July 8, 2008 – Sabrina Heng of the Singapore Sports School won two gold medals yesterday at the 49th National Swimming Championships yesterday.

She won her 100m Breaststroke gold in a time of 1 minute 19.7 seconds and followed that up in the afternoon with a 200m Breaststroke gold in 2:49.01. Her wins sets her up nicely for the ASEAN Schools Swimming Championships next week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“It’s my first time going to the ASEAN Schools meet,” said the 15-year-old Secondary 3 student. “I expect the competition will be tough.”

“I’ve been in Sports School since Secondary One. It makes training easier, not having the trouble of going to and fro. I initially missed home but I’ve become more independent.”
