A reader has kindly put this together for everyone’s benefit. Readers have said that the voting is more a popularity contest. Any vote will always have an element of that. In any case, the aim of this vote, in line with the mission of this site, was to bring our vibrant sports scene to light and given the sheer number of comments for this voting, we think that’s been achieved.
So whether this is the best 15 or not, let’s remember that they are fellow Singaporeans. If some of them move on to represent the nation one day, we hope that their appearance in the top 15 made an encouraging difference in their journey to that high honour.
Red Sports. Always Game.

Wonder why SAJC having 13 ‘ best players ‘ on the list lost all games to ACSI in 2008 and to both RJ and ACSI 2007????
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ashvin Raju (#14, winger, Raffles JC)
nice one la bryan
i think m.i have one player that is good. heard is name is carebear. he’s quite fierce.
nice one la mewk
nice one la rugbymomX. actions > words. GG to Saints, GJ to AC IB
Agree with u, wbb.
However, voting is often done with emotions.
If I may be candid, most would be voting for their own. And this is not unique only to SAJC and the AC Family. IT includes RJC and JJC. Only less than a handful are voting objectively, this probably from impartial ex-ruggers.
I suspect ACSI has stopped the ‘not that fervent voting’. They rather ‘ let their actions speak louder than words ‘
Good players are not exclusive to just 1 school. They are also in the neighbourhood schools.
Every school ( esp the ‘BIG 4’ ) would feel they have ‘ THE DREAM TEAM ‘, and frankly, its justifiable. Sports is also about BELIEF. If they believe in themselves, and unleash that potential, any school can produce a dream team. ( with hardwork etc thrown in ).
I am happy to note that this year, ACSI team believes in themselves and GOD and by HIS GRACE, HE has given them victory.
All the BEST to ACJC, SAJC and RJC in the coming year. Its a level playing field again. And to all teams: COMMENDABLE EFFORT AND HARDWORK.
The ranking is hopelessly one sided.
It is obvious that SAJC supporters have been voting for their guys only. Similarly the AC family is doing so also for their players as well only maybe not that ferverntly.
Looking at the final tally as listed, there are only 4 ACJC players and the rest SAJC. If such a team really was to be put up, would it r\truly represent a “dream” team.
I guess not.
fadhli from mi? mi rugby is so lousy la.
i think fadhli frm mi shuld be nominated
ok thanks, I have put the votes together.
hi les.
Mohamed Fadhil and fadhil from acjc are the same ppl. their votes have been divided. guess u should put both votes together? thanks.
GO ACSI, TMR IS YOUR DAY TO SHINE AT THE RUGBY FINALS.
THE WHOLE AC FAMILY IS CHEERING FOR YOU GUYS!
ACS – WE’RE MORE THAN CONQUERORS!
GO AC!!!!
[…] on both teams tomorrow. But in the battle for victory, a rugby mom had the best advice. Said RugbymomX: “Sports is about perserverance, endurance, discipline and belief. Its not just about […]
Nabhan was listed as “Nadhan”. Sorry about that. I changed it. Hope it didn’t cost him many votes.
I’ve also added David Yung of ACJC.
uncle les!

” some people mobilise others to vote”………lol , indeed!
yoy d man! One smart and wise editor.
YOU ROCK!
Thanks BB.
Every poll will attract people with a mixture of motives.
Some will vote based on player skills alone, some on friendship, and some on school ties.
Some people mobilise others to vote.
So let the aggregation of all votes reflect everyone’s preferences and biases and eventually it may prove a somewhat true reflection of each player’s ability.
Les,
Your intention is undoubtedly great and novel, and was highly supported to begin with. Its wonderful to accord recognition to the BEST players.
But it becomes ludicrous when the system doesnt reflect the original objective due to ‘misuse”. And this is by no means your fault as its beyond your control.
Kudos to you for all your effort and I reckon its no easy feat.
GREAT JOB!
