Come on? Arrogant? Not at all. Thank the contributor for even contributing.
There is also no reason why uncle les or any of our contributors should explain our choice of words. As far as possible, the editors on the site filter through every story, the words that go through are all deemed acceptable. You see words which are more objectionable than this in the national newspapers. So why don’t you write to the Forum pages and give your comments?
Only then will I take my hat off to you.
I guess some people would rather not see any stories on their sport come up at all. Here at Red Sports, we have a few volunteers who take the effort to cover the games and make a submission for the benefit of all the others, yet people still complain.
We cover the sport, you complain. We don’t cover the sport, you complain.
To those people who have so much criticisms of our contributors, why don’t you take the initiative and contribute your own version of the stories instead of sitting there and complaining about our contributors’ stories being “why like this?, why like that? or why no coverage?”
It is also largely because of the many contribution articles that keep Red Sports functioning as a reader-generated site. So please show your appreciation instead of sitting there and complaining.
Jolyn, that was a sporting comment. You got class!
Hey all,
I welcome criticism on my write-ups and my pictures, and I thank all of you for providing some.
In any case, my intention was to depict the goalkeeper’s distress at having to pick so many balls out of her own net. There was some rather visible disappointment that I identify with, as a previous soccer player.
It was not meant to be a snide remark. VJC had her days of losing 0-8. I regret that the caption was not made explicit enough that it was read the wrong way.
In any case, hope that clarifies my stance, and look forward to more reports from more people.
Amazing isn’t it, that you can contribute an article and still get sticks and stones thrown at you.
Jolyn Ang’s write-up and captions are within reason as far as I am concerned.
To concede 15 goals qualifies as “hapless”. To have to pick the ball from the back of your net qualifies as a hard time and is not sarcasm.
in my opinion the contributor is abit arrogant.
granted u are the only one making effort does not mean ur subtle snide remarks should be given credit.
sometimes u gotta accept criticism to improve=)
other than tt nice pics=)
This is a reader-generated site. You send it, we post it.
If other games are not featured, it’s because nobody made the effort to write about it.
no, this game is the first game that vjc have played for the start of the season, same case for the ijc soccer girls.
why is this game the only feature?? so many games have been played already -.-
The contributor meant that it was emotionally difficult for the goalkeeper to keep having to retrieve the ball from her net. It was not meant to be literal.
I think the photo captions are a bit too degrading. saying the keeper had a hard time picking balls from the net? what kind of sportsmanship is that. Of course they deserve to win, but to say that?
While we shouldn’t go out to embarrass our opponents, and we should play the game honorably, it is the job of their defense to stop us, not for us to stop ourselves. Playing half heartedly because your opponent is inferior in skill is respecting your opponents as well.
If you show mercy, you dont respect ur opponents. 🙂 thats what i think. everyone should give their very best in every single game.
goodness me. have some mercy on your opponents lehhh
