Raffles Girls School endured a nervy start to eventually beat Jurong 41-28 in a crucial game to secure their semifinal spot. They were also helped by Chung Cheng High who beat Anglican High in the other group game 46-37 to ensure their qualification. As a result, Anglican High School, one of the championship favourites, failed to advance into the semifinals.

Jurong led from the start, outscoring the South Zone champions 12-9 in the first quarter. They proved it was no fluke when they maintained the lead into the half-time break, leading 19-15.

However the Raffles team refused to give up, and were more fired up and determined after the break. They came back strongly, outscoring their opponents 14-5 and 12-4 in the last two quarters to win the game 41-28. Captain Hannah Ng (#9) led the Raffles comeback with 14 of her game-high 19 points in the second half. Tan Si Ying (#7) also starred for the Jurong team, scoring 12 points, including two 3-pointers.
