Anglo-Chinese School (International) continued their dominating run in the adidas It Takes 5ive Tournament with a 53-35 thumping of Fairfield yesterday in their Round of 16 match at CCAB.

Fairfield kept pace with ACS(Int’l) in the first quarter, trailing only by three with the score at 10-13. However, ACS(Int’l) showed their team strength in the second quarter to pull away and lead 26-14 by half-time. In the third, Fairfield fought back stoutly, outscoring ACS(Int’l) 15-11 to make it 29-37. But ACS(Int’l) shut the door on them in the fourth quarter and Fairfield never got that close again. ACS(Int’l) had three players scoring double-digits – Darren Tan (18 pts), Han Francisco (17 pts) and Jonathan Ng (14 pts – one 3-pointer) – while Fairfield Methodist were very reliant on Desmond Heng (15 pts) to get the points.

ACS(Int’l) will now take on Dunman High this Thursday, 23 August 07 at CCAB in a quarterfinal matchup. Tip-off time is 2 pm.
