RUGBY
Hi rugby players and fans,
In the 99 days this site has existed, I have been left with no doubts that rugby fans are very passionate about the sport and are willing to share their opinion about it.
I allow and encourage folks to post their contributions about their game on the site. I also declare for all to see what school affiliation the writer has.
Why? So that you can make your own judgement about the article.
If you disagree with the opinion, you can share your opinion about the game in the comments section. Many of you have done so. In fact, the rugby reports generate the highest number of comments of any sport.
But for those infantile boys who make personal attacks against upstanding people like Mr Wee who contribute pictures and a game summary out of the goodness of their hearts, I just delete your posts and comments and take down your IP addresses for future reference.
So this is how Red Sports works. We post all reasonable opinions and we are for all schools and all sports. I didn’t set this web site up just for the sake of my favourite three sports. In fact, I prefer triathlons these days.
So rugby gentlemen, this is how we’ll get along on this site, ok?
Regards
Les

thanks les for all that you’re doing for singapore sports. i’m an avid sportman and photogapher, and this site appeals to me quite obviously. i’ll be covering some sports and will definitely send you photographs and match reports if i have any. cheers!
Hi Les,
As someone who has up to recent times spent a fair amount of time with young ruggers and in the ‘heated’ school rugby scene where passions run high, it must be said that from time to time these passions tend to run amok.
Any game will have its fair share of conspiracy theories, especially for the side that did not win. Its always the case. Refs will be blamed, the field will suddenly be unplayable even though the game was just played on it , and so on and so on.
At the end of the day, like you said, Rugby is a gentleman’s game, and the young players and supporters of today have to realize that. Support your school with all your pride and passion, but with some common sense . The Ref is only human, as are all of us, and he is doing a service to the game by being there. With so much presure on refs in all sports locally and globally, is it any wonder that not many ppl step up to be refs?
Thus, Congrats on a superub site, one that all can enjoy, and for our passionate ruggers, lets have a good semi finals, and let the teams settle it on the field, and when the final whistle is blown, we congratulate the victors no matter what!
Les, You are right on.
Appreciate you for setting up this site. You filled in a very important gap
in Singapore Sports. A few years back I wrote to The Straits Times lamenting
the fact that it was so difficult to get news of school sports. I firmly
believed the best way to promote sports in Singapore is to give more
coverage to sports at the school level. I urged The Straits Time to do so
but I did not hear from them. What we have now is a weekly reports on School Sports which I feel is totally inadequate. Keep up the good work.
i can’t agree any less.
