Once in a while, someone will come in to say something nice about Red Sports. We are grateful. Then, once in a while, someone will come in to take a bite out of Red Sports, or specifically, me. So here, for everybody to see, is the lecture I got for not covering the plate final in person:
Said jjcian: “First of all, I am not a rugger. I am just unhappy that it took so long for this story to be up. But since it's up, I thank Mr. Ng Cheng Cong. But you les, you haven't been helpful at all. My school's ruggers played hard and played well to get into the Plate Finals. I believed they deserved recognition way earlier than the Cup Finals. However, the Cup Finals were reported just a day after their match and it took 17 days to report our match. The story was also covered by you, and this raises a question. Why weren't you there at the Plate Finals? It may be just a PLATE final to you, but for our ruggers and cj ruggers, it meant a whole lot more. So can you imagine the pain, coupled by the lack of recognition, our ruggers felt? I am a close friend of one of the ruggers, and I was told by him that he felt that the Plates are not taken seriously at all. And that after all the injuries suffered by both teams during the run to the Plate Final, he thought that we deserved more credit. So I believe I'm speaking on behalf of the whole JJ team and the CJ team.
Lastly, I think you should not treat us like small children. "Next year I'll be telling the volunteers to go cover another game/sport to save themselves the abuse." That sentence sounds like a petty comeback and we're not buying it. As this is only a Plate Final, I dare you to try the same move on the Cup Final. Try waiting a long time before publishing. I guarantee you will get flamed, possibly worse than this.
Thank you and don't try and think of another comeback.”
This comment is with reference to the plate final between Jurong Junior College and Catholic Junior College.
So this guy (or girl) thinks I should be at the rugby plate final regardless of whatever else I may have to do on that day (for the record, I babysit my son every Friday afternoon, and the plate final was on a Friday afternoon). Even if I was not, and was at another sports event, jjcian thinks I owe it to the JJC rugby team to be there.
So what do you guys think?
nobody gives a damn about jjc, i’ll be really blunt since he is such a whiner aside from acjc, acs i , rjc, sajc the rest of the teams playing the A div are a joke. you can put those other jcs’ in the c div and still they wouldn’t be champions. acs i, ri, sas will be able to whip them.

i’m a current saints,richmond!JJCian,can’t you be more understanding,not everyone who may be as free as you can attend the plate finals!we have our own personal things to do too & what’s more this is the only site you get all updates for sports!if you can find another site than just get lost from here!what’s more you can always register with redsports if you want to publish on your favourite sports results!

Thank you ”tohkiatshengKEN” from SJI for the C Div competition info. I am an old boy of ACS. Getting bored and sick of all the unnecessary comments posted on such a good website. So I am looking forward to the next Competition. All C Div teams must be trg very hard now since there are many new players from Sec 1. Remember to train hard, play hard and STUDY HARDER!! Good luck to all for the coming Competition.

Dear JJCian,
We can understand your outburst when the Plate Final report was delayed. I only wish that you show more understanding for Uncle Les.
Red Sports is what it is today due largely to Uncle Les and his team of volunteers. Few know the difficulties and financial commitment Uncle Les made to start Red Sports. It started as a one man show with his personal saving because of his passion. In the early days, the financial demand to keep Red Sports going was a huge burden for Uncle Les. However, I am glad that he persisted.
Uncle Les is doing a tremendous job in promoting Sports in Singapore by giving coverage and publicity to Sports at the school level. The Straits Times coverage is totally inadequate. I do not know of any TV or radio coverage for School Sports. Uncle Les’ idea of using the web to cover School Sports is a brilliant idea that reaches out to the students. The web forums, debates and interactions also help in the promotion of School Sports.
Instead of complaining, why not come forward to volunteer as many have suggested. Let’s appreciate what Uncle Les and his team of volunteers are doing with limited resources. They are doing a GREAT JOB. Let’s applause them!
Finally, I believe you owe Uncle Les an apology. I urge you to be brave enough to do it and give credit where credit is due.

This website has my full support. Yes, sometimes, I would agree reports can be biased. Then again, it’s better than nothing to read at all! I just finished JC about 2-3 yrs ago. During that time.. it was close to ZERO reports or pictures about our tournaments in C, B and A Div. For those who cant handle it, stay off this website.
