Anitha Kiptum of Kenya wins Women 10K and collapses at finish; Vivian Tang fastest local in 6th

Anitha Kiptum of Kenya won the Women 10K race this morning at the Padang in a dramatic finish that saw her rushed to the hospital in an ambulance for exhaustion. Her winning time of 34 minutes 55 seconds is outside her personal best time of 32min 12sec and also slower than last year's winning time of 33min 46.30sec.

Singapore’s Olympic ice-skating dreams destroyed by looming economic crisis?

The decision to shelve the plans to build the Olympic ice-skating rink at the Jurong Entertainment Centre will affect not just Jurong residents and ice-skating enthusiasts. It also means that the Singapore Ice Skating Association's recently-obtained membership into the International Skating Union and Asian Skating Union could be terminated as a result.

Tao Li and Quah Ting Wen to compete at Swimming World Cup

Two of Singapore’s Olympic swimmers will be back in the pool once again after a much deserved break. The FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup is coming to Singapore’s shores for the second time on the 1st and 2nd of November at the Singapore Sports School and Singapore’s best will be pitting their skills against the rest of the world, with hopes of doing the republic proud.
