The B Division Basketball Championship witnessed the emergence of new champions in the girls’ and the boys’ categories. Previous winners Raffles Girls’ School could only manage a third position this year while Catholic High were eliminated from contention after the second round of the national championship.
Presbyterian High conquered New Town Secondary 54-45 to be crowned the new champions of the boys’ B Division Basketball Championship.
Most may not have noticed, but in the midst of the hustle and bustle of inter-school A, B and C Division competitions, the primary schools scene is alive and kicking as well.
Presbyterian High, who had surrendered weakly to New Town Secondary in the quarter-final stage, seemed to have recovered enough to brush aside Anglican High 67-48 in the semi-final of the National B Division Basketball Championship. They will now meet New Town in the final.
Dunman Secondary beat defending champions Raffles Girls' School 46-44 after trailing for the first two quarters.
