Hougang Sports Hall, Monday, April 11, 2016 – Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) started off their National A Division Floorball Championship with a 10-0 win against Tampines Junior College (TPJC).

Tan Chi Lin (ACJC #27) was the top scorer with three goals.

The start was intense with many turnovers. Six minutes into the game, Shaun Ng (ACJC #17) scored the opening goal with a point-blank shot. This was followed by goals from teammates Samuel Ho (ACJC #5) and Shannon Lee (ACJC #6) which put ACJC firmly into a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period.

The second period saw ACJC put five goals past TPJC. Chi Lin (ACJC #27) scored a double in the first 10 minutes of the period to give ACJC a 5-0 lead.

Then teammates Cheng Wei Qiang (ACJC #10) and Jordan Teoh (ACJC #13) scored within a minute of each other to widen the gap to 8-0 by the end of the period.

In the last period, ACJC maintained their sound defence, shutting TPJC out. Dylan Han (ACJC #14) and Samuel Ho (ACJC #5) scored a goal apiece in the final five minutes to wrap up the 10-0 win for ACJC.

ACJC captain Joshua Loh (ACJC #1) said, “We started off well, and kept the intensity up. We did well in the first period, and worked to maintain that for the rest of the game. However, our defence can be tighter and we are still not playing up to our potential.”

ACJC will next play Pioneer Junior College while TPJC will take on Innova Junior College.
