OCBC Aquatic Centre, Thursday, April 7, 2016 – Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) defeated Anglo Chinese Junior College 11-8 to finish third in the National A Division Water Polo Championship.

Daniel Tan (ACS(I) #12) was the top scorer of the game with six goals while the ACS(I) goalkeeper, Justin Seah (#1), played a key role with many saves in the game.

The aquatic centre was packed with a large pool of ACS (I) and ACJC supporters and they engulfed the place with loud cheers throughout the game.

Within a minute of the start, Daniel Tan (ACS (I) #12) powered the ball into goal from the half way line. Garuth Koh (ACJC #3) then replied with an equaliser to ensure both teams finished the first quarter even.

In the second quarter, ACS(I) went ahead through Eeon Tan (#7) but Darren Cheng (#5) equalised for ACJC at 2-2.

ACS(I) then pulled away with goals from Daniel (#12) and Zachary Quek (#4) for a seemingly more comfortable 4-2 lead. However, Darren (#5) brought the deficit down to one for ACJC with his second goal.

The two teams had three goals each in the third quarter.

Daniel (#12) made it a two-goal cushion again for ACS(I) and Eeon (#7) then gave ACS(I) their largest lead up to that point at 6-3 with a goal.

But ACJC again came right back with three straight goals. First, Garuth Koh (#3) scored two, then teammate Daniel Cheng (#5) scored to tie the game up at 6-6. However, Daniel (#12) stopped the ACJC momentum with his fourth goal of the game to wrest back the lead at 7-6.

Daniel (#12) continued his scoring momentum in the fourth quarter. He opened the scoring in the fourth to restore a two-goal cushion but Evan Soh (#6) made it a one-goal game again.

Daniel (#12) was not quite done, adding his sixth goal of the game for a 9-7 lead, and Zachary (#4) got his second of the game for another three-goal cushion for ACS(I).

Jeremy Kivy (#5) then got his first goal of the game to give ACS(I) a four-goal lead, their biggest of the game. Bryan Chong (#8) came back with one last goal for ACJC but ACS(I) had done enough for an 11-8 win.
