Yishun Sports Hall, Friday, April 1, 2016 — Orchid Park Secondary (OPS) edged out Tanjong Katong Secondary (TK) 4-1 in the semi-finals of the National B Division Girls Floorball Championship.

Daphne Tan (OPS #16) was the top scorer of the game with two goals.

Orchid Park received an initial shock in the first period when they saw how aggressive Tanjong Katong were. This translated into Sharifaq Nahrah Jamal Alhadi (TK #25) scoring for Tanjong Katong in the first period to send the huge crowd of Tanjong Katong supporters wild with excitement.

However, Orchid Park made up for their slow start in the second period when Daphne Tan (OPS #16) scored two consecutive goals to drive her team into a 2-1 lead.

In the final period, Orchid Park maintained their composure, with Syafiqah Edris (OPS #9) and Beverlyn Tan (OPS #22) adding a goal each to wrap up the victory 4-1.

Wong Che Yean (OPS #5) said, “We did better than our last game.”

Syafiqah Edris (OPS #9) added, “We started out slow but picked up period by period. It was during our last period that we started getting all the goals we wanted.”

Orchid Park next face Bukit Merah in the highly anticipated championship game on April 6 at Yishun Sports Hall.
