Hougang Sports Hall, Monday, March 28, 2016 — Pei Hwa Secondary (PHS) put on a solid performance as they cruised past CHIJ St Theresa's Convent (STC) 5-1 in the 2nd round of the National B Division Floorball Championship.

With this victory, Pei Hwa improved their 2nd round record to 2-0-2 while St Theresa's saw their record fall to 1-0-3. Both teams are already out of the running for a semis berth.

Esther Fang Zi Hui (PHS #8) led Pei Hwa with 2 goals, while Theva Darshini D/O Vijakumar (STC #15) bagged the only goal for St Theresa's.

The opening period saw Pei Hwa put up an impressive display as they made the most out of each offensive possession, creating plenty of scoring opportunities for themselves with fluid ball movement. As a result, Pei Hwa saw themselves finish the opening period with a 3-1 lead.

Pei Hwa dominated possession in the second period and they continued to create even more scoring opportunities for themselves. However, St Theresa's responded with a resilient defense and quick counter attacks off Pei Hwa turnovers. However, St Theresa's were unable to capitalise on their counter attacks despite having numerous good shots on target. Heading into the final period, St Theresa's trailed 1-4.

The final period saw both teams matching each other, with plenty of scoring opportunities created for both sides. However, Pei Hwa put the game away for good behind a drag shot by Tan Wai Ling (#32) through the defense to go up 5-1, which proved to be the final score of the match.

St Theresa's will next face off against Tanjong Katong Secondary at 1pm on March 30, while Pei Hwa will face off against Bukit Merah Secondary at 2pm on March 30. Both matches will be held at St Gabriel's Secondary School.
