OCBC Arena, Friday, February 19, 2016 – Queensway Secondary (QSS) triumphed over Queenstown Secondary (QTSS) 47-38 in Round 2 of the South Zone B Division Basketball Championship.

This result leaves both teams with a 1-3 win loss record and both are out of the running for the semi-finals.

(QTSS #13) had a game high of 19 points while (#7) and (#17) from Queensway led their team to victory with 13 points each.

The game started with early dominance from Queensway as they sank shot after shot. Queenstown on the other hand, could not find the net despite countless shot attempts. (QTSS #13) was solely responsible for the two points made by Queenstown in the opening quarter.

Queensway seemed to have the upper hand with a 9 point lead after the first quarter. Nevertheless, Queenstown continued to fight hard and managed to keep pace with Queensway who led 19-9 at half time.

Queenstown were not ready to give up and started the third quarter with a full court press. Both teams traded baskets to end the third quarter with 12 points each as Queensway kept a 10-point lead heading into the final quarter.

Queenstown played their hardest in the last quarter in hopes of reducing the deficit. They scored the most points in that quarter, including a 3-pointer by (QTSS #13). However, Queensway replied with 3-pointers of their own and kept the lead.

Even though Queenstown showed great resolve and outscored Queensway in the last quarter, it was not enough to draw level. Thanks to the strong start in the first quarter, Queensway claimed victory over Queenstown by one point.
