Clementi Sports Hall, Monday, January 18, 2016 — Swiss Cottage Secondary SCS) led throughout the game to beat Dunearn Secondary (DS) 34-10 in the West Zone B Division Basketball Championship.

Mohammad Yousuf (#11) from Swiss Cottage led all scorers with nine points while Dunearn’s #10 had a team high of four points.

It was clear from the start that Swiss Cottage were the dominant players with their aggressive defence. Dunearn, despite countless attempts, only managed two points in the first quarter through their #10.

Swiss Cottage had their quarter in the third where they showcased their defensive ability. Dunearn were unable to counter their defense and were forced to shoot 3-pointers. However, their shots were unsuccessful and they were unabe to score any points in that quarter.

Dunearn picked up during the last quarter as DS #6 made a layup to get their scoring into double digits, but the Swiss Cottage lead was too big to overcome.

Swiss Cottage captain, Ryan Wah (#5), said, “Quite smooth, starting was sloppy but after some great defence and strong team plays we picked up towards the end. I feel we could have gotten more inbounds and be a bit more active on our offense side, make more of our shots.”

Swiss Cottage are aiming to get to the top four and next face Unity Secondary. Dunearn Secondary will go up against Tanglin Secondary next.
