Singapore Institute of Management, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 — Defending champions Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) held their ground and earned a 3-0 win over a spirited Singapore Management University (SMU) side, earning them their second straight win in the Singapore University Games (SUniG) women’s volleyball championship.

The victory was a close shave for the three-time champions, as the scores (25-15, 25-21, 25-20) were kept close in two of three sets.

SIM had an offensive constant in Lim Chien Wen (#9), who kept them ahead of their opponents with her spikes.

Against a supposedly stronger side, SMU held their ground and even took the lead twice, succumbing only due to lethargy and unforced errors.

SIM will next face Nanyang Technological University on Friday, 7.15 p.m., while SMU will face Singapore University of Technology and Design on Monday, 8.30 p.m. Both games will be played at the Singapore Institute of Management.
