PESEB, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 – National Junior College (NJC) beat St. Margaret’s Secondary (SMS) 20–14 despite being outscored by their opponents in the second half of their game in the South Zone C Division Girls Basketball Championship.

St. Margaret’s came to within two points (14–16) of NJC in the closing moments but could not prevent their opponents from pulling away to wrap up the victory.

The SMS #11 and NJC #8 both recorded a game-high five points each.

For St. Margaret’s, this is their second loss in a row, and they now have a 0–2 win-loss record. NJC defeated Bukit Merah Secondary 47–6 in their opening game and they now have a 2–0 win-loss record.

NJC led 10–2 at the end of the first quarter and were held to just four points in the second quarter as they took a 14–4 lead into half time.

St. Margaret’s outscored NJC in both the third and fourth quarter but could not prevent the eventual NJC victory.

St. Margaret’s will next face Bukit Merah next Monday on July 20, while NJC will take on undefeated Guangyang Secondary on the same day.
